Are wallabies good pets?

hi, im pretty young but i love animals and because im moving into a larger house and yard (acreage), and ive had pets before, i was looking into other types of pets. specifically wallabies. i was wondering about whether theyre good pets. some say theyre wonderful and loving. others say theyre hard to care for and not so good as pets. i know a lot about them but im a bit confused about the laws in new york prohibiting certain wild animals as pets, like wallabies. i have a barn that i will be keeping my chickens and other animals. i know they have to be kept housed for the first year or two, and require a lot of attention but after the first couple years, would they be okay in a barn or no? also, i know a lot of wallabies are abandoned, but the last thing i would do to any of my pets is get bored of, abandon or neglect them!! also, approximately how much would they cost?? i truly love animals and would looove to have a wallaby, not only as a pet but to learn about responsibility and care. thanks!!
