Seems to me the RCMP does allow exceptions to their Uniform based on religion or cultural beliefs. I read, some time ago, of a Mountie who does wear a turban, he is a member of some religion in India, I think. Others have been allowed beards because of their faith. Pretty sure these exceptions are pretty rare.
