Why don't I get emoticons, text color, font type, and other stuff for my e-mails, they are nice to have.?

I like all the options on the e-mail that you used to have color, size, font, smileys, spell check, and that whole extra bar of items like bold, underline, italics, etc. why don't you have that any more when I try to compose my notes to people? your plain ariel type is so boring.
